should help you out When the key: value syntax is used in a Hash literal, the key always becomes a Symbol:
code :
{foo: "bar"}.keys[0].class # => Symbol
{:foo => "bar"}.keys[0].class # => Symbol
{1 => "bar"}.keys[0].class    # => Fixnum

like below fixes the issue JRuby is the Ruby implementation that runs on a JVM whereas Matz's Ruby is a C implementation.
Key features to note are:
Difference between self.foobar and foorbar in Rails 3.x? Rails couldn't find a method without 'self.' in the definition

this will help Adding self to the method definition makes it a class method rather than an instance method. So when you try and call User.authenticate, it only works if you defined the method on the class rather than for instances of User.
Like this:
code :
class User
  puts self.inspect # would return "User"

  def self.authenticate
    puts self.inspect # also returns "User" when called like User.authenticate
  end

  def authenticate
    puts self # will only work for instances of User.
  end
end
Does try() suffer performance difference between Rails 3.0.x and Rails 3.2.x

will be helpful for those in need try does exist on NilClass, but in ActiveSupport 3.0.4 was not located in a way that is as transparent as 3.1.x

seems to work fine In Rails 4, the assign_attributes method was part of ActiveRecord, in Rails 5 it is part of ActiveModel. This change is mentioned in the Rails5 CHANGELOG which everyone reads prior to upgrading Rails.
Presumably, ActiveModelSerializers::Model includes an assign_attributes method via something in ActiveModel and something in ActiveModel thinks it is calling AM's assign_attributes rather than your accidental override.

To fix the issue you can do Essentially the forked process most likely doesn't inherit the same environment as your running console, so bundler wont load the correct gems (and hence it can't find selenium-webdriver) - you might fix it by adding a rails env var to the command e.g.
code :
fork { exec "RAILS_ENV=#{Rails.env} bundle exec sidekiq -c 3 crawling_jobs -t 1 -L log/sidekiq.log"
