UINavigationController Inherit

hope this fix your issue The reason you can't set the title with self.title, is because the navigationItem, in your setup apparently belongs to the tab bar controller, not controller A. You can set the title with self.tabBarController.title.
code :

Share : facebook icon twitter icon
Set toolbarItems property on UINavigationController, or UIViewController displayed in UINavigationController?

With these it helps toolbarItems property of a UINavigationController has no effect on its own toolbar. You should note that it is inherited from UIViewController and only effective if you put that navigation controller inside another navigation controller.
To update the visible toolbar items, you should use setToolbarItems:animated: method on the top view controller of the navigation controller.

will be helpful for those in need I would like to create an app with a navigation controller as a window root view controller and a segmented control in a title view of the navigation controller to switch its root view controller , You are setting titleView for NavigationItem instead set Item for it.
code :
NSArray * array = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:@"GPS",@"List",@"Map", nil];

UISegmentedControl * sc = [[UISegmentedControl alloc] initWithItems:array];
sc.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 250, 50);
sc.segmentedControlStyle = UISegmentedControlStylePlain;
[ViewController.navigationItem setTitleView:sc];
UIBarButtonItem *segmentItem = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithCustomView:sc];
[ViewController.navigationItem setRightBarButtonItem:segmentItem];

wish help you to fix your issue What is the parent class of ViewController3? It sounds like it is a navigation controller, and it is my understanding that you cannot push a navigation controller from within another navigation controller. If you want to do something like that you'd need to present the new navigation controller from the first navigation controller.
Edit:
code :
[self.navigationController presentViewController:ViewController3 animated:YES completion:nil]
Can I inherit from a UINavigationController in my UIViewController?

it helps some times A UINavigationController does not manage views -- it manages other UIViewControllers -- so it will not initialize any random @IBOutlets. It only cares about initializing its navigation bar and connecting to its child view controllers.
I think you misunderstand how to "inherit" (not the right word) your navigation bar in your child view controllers. The child view controllers must be a subclass of UIViewController. Then @IBOutlets act normally. As long as they are managed by a UINavigationController by virtue of creating the proper 'show' segues, they get decorated automatically with that UINavigationController's nav bar.

I hope this helps . There's a few ways you can handle this, but generally, my go to way is to handle this simply by having one main navigation controller which will keep the entire sign in / main menu array of controllers in it, and simply add or remove the menu from view controllers depending on whether the user is logged in or logged out (show either just [signin] or [signin, mainmenu] as view controllers on navigation controller).
Lastly, depending on what kind of logic the tab bar has, usually I'll embed a navigation controller for each tab bar item.
