This might help you I download the the app developer kit from Apple, and when I run the app with this script on my iphone the location is reliably retrieved. Looks like it's just an iOS simulator issue.

Android - Reliably getting the current location

Android - Reliably getting the current location

around this issue My app checks at a specific time whether a user is at a given location. I use the alarm manager to start a service that makes this call: , The code may be something like that:
code :
public class MyLocation {
    Timer timer1;
    LocationManager lm;

    public boolean getLocation(Context context)
    {
        lm = (LocationManager) context.getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE);
        lm.requestLocationUpdates(LocationManager.GPS_PROVIDER, 0, 0, locationListenerGps);
        timer1=new Timer();
        timer1.schedule(new GetLastLocation(), 20000);
        return true;
    }

    LocationListener locationListenerGps = new LocationListener() {
        public void onLocationChanged(Location location) {
            timer1.cancel();
            lm.removeUpdates(this);
            //use location as it is the latest value
        }
        public void onProviderDisabled(String provider) {}
        public void onProviderEnabled(String provider) {}
        public void onStatusChanged(String provider, int status, Bundle extras) {}
    };

    class GetLastLocation extends TimerTask {
        @Override
        public void run() {
             lm.removeUpdates(locationListenerGps);
             Location location=lm.getLastKnownLocation(LocationManager.NETWORK_PROVIDER);
             //use location as we have not received the new value from listener
        }
    }
}
How to get last location on Glass reliably?

it fixes the issue Because Glass uses dynamic set of providers, you need to get location from all of them and select the location with best accuracy:
code :
 public static Location getLastLocation(Context context) {
      LocationManager manager = (LocationManager) context.getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE);
      Criteria criteria = new Criteria();
      criteria.setAccuracy(Criteria.NO_REQUIREMENT);
      List<String> providers = manager.getProviders(criteria, true);
      List<Location> locations = new ArrayList<Location>();
      for (String provider : providers) {
           Location location = manager.getLastKnownLocation(provider);
           if (location != null && location.getAccuracy()!=0.0) {
               locations.add(location);
           }
      }
      Collections.sort(locations, new Comparator<Location>() {
          @Override
          public int compare(Location location, Location location2) {
              return (int) (location.getAccuracy() - location2.getAccuracy());
          }
      });
      if (locations.size() > 0) {
          return locations.get(0);
      }
      return null;
 }

will be helpful for those in need I recommend trying anaconda or miniconda, which manage environments and install packages - it 'just works'.

hope this fix your issue Like in every long-running update process, you should use the concept of bookmark:
Run jobs of (say 100) async updates and then store somewhere that you just done updating 100 rows. Run another job of another 100 rows and then bookmark you've just updated 200 rows. And so on...

hop of those help? You can check the returned data from the location manager for the horizontalAccuracy property, to see if the location is accurate enough or not.
Another way to turn off the display and save battery power without tricks is to enable the proximity sensor, and disable sleep. That way the display will blank when the phone is in your pocket, and light up when you pick it up to look at it.
