SQL SELECT name by id

SQL SELECT name by id

seems to work fine This is just a simple INNER JOIN. The general syntax for a JOIN is:
code :
SELECT stuff
FROM table1
JOIN table2 ON table1.relatedColumn = table2.relatedColumn
SELECT u.playername
FROM users u
JOIN player_locations pl ON pl.playerid = u.id AND pl.location = 'DOWNTOWN';
SELECT u.playername
FROM users u, player_locations pl
WHERE u.id = pl.playerid AND pl.location = 'DOWNTOWN';

I hope this helps you . Have you put your code in a $(document).ready() function?
Assuming your code does what you want when the user selects a different country, this is what you want to change your code to:
code :
// sets the option group using the same code you already use for on-country-change
function setOptGroup() {
    var state_province = $('#userstate option, #userstate optgroup');
    state_province.hide();
    // EDIT: this line won't retrieve selected country when page has just been loaded
    //$("#userstate optgroup[label='" + $(this).find(':selected').html() + "']")
    // this line works
    $("#userstate optgroup[label='" + $('#usercountry').val() + "']")
        .children()
        .andSelf()
        .show();
}

$( document ).ready(function() {
    // set up the USA option group when the page is loaded
    setOptGroup();

    // your present code - refactored a bit
    $('#usercountry').change(setOptGroup); // edit to fix typo
});

Hope this helps It depends on what you want to do. Usually I would use select over poll but it depends. First, select and poll work with blocking sockets and let you multiplex a thread I/O among all sockets.
Second, if you want to use non-blocking sockets you don't need to use select or poll, you just read (recv) or write (send) and it could return without having done anything. In C, if it would block, the operation will return an error telling you it would block (if it were a blocking socket).

it helps some times I have a php page where users type in a specific id number in a text field and click a "SEARCH" button. Upon clicking "SEARCH", a php script runs to connect to a MySQL Database table "xxx"and grab the row id that matches the id number entered by the user. The SELECT statement grabs the database values: "productionstage" and "floornotes" for the identified row. , You need to make few changes in your code, such as:
code :
    ...

    <fieldset id="doneButtonField">
        <input type="button" name="doneButton" id="doneButton" value="DONE">
    </fieldset>
</form>
$("#searchButton").click(function(){
    var sgnumber = $('#sgnumber').val();
    $.ajax ({
        method: 'POST',
        url: "workordermovementGET.php",
        data: {sgNumber: sgnumber},
        dataType: 'json',
        success: function( data ){
            if(data.status){
                $("select#stageSelect option").filter(function() {
                    return $(this).val() == data.productionstage;
                }).prop('selected', true);
                $("textarea#floorNotes").val(data.floornotes);
            }
        }
    });
});
<?php
    include('inc.php');

    if (isset($_POST['sgNumber'])) {
        $sgNumber = $_POST['sgNumber'];

        //connect  to the database
        $conn = new mysqli($servername, $username, $password, $dbname);

        // Check connection
        if(mysqli_connect_errno() ) {
            printf('Could not connect: ' . mysqli_connect_error());
            exit();
        }

        $conn->select_db($dbname);

        if(! $conn->select_db($dbname) ) {
            echo 'Could not select database. '.'<BR>';
        }

        $sql= "SELECT productionstage, floornotes FROM invoices WHERE id = ?";
        $stmt = $conn->prepare($sql);
        $stmt->bind_param('i', $sgNumber);
        $stmt->execute();
        $stmt->store_result();

        if ($stmt->num_rows == 1) {
            $stmt->bind_result($productionstage, $floornotes);
            $stmt->fetch();

            echo json_encode(array('status' => true, 'productionstage' => $productionstage, 'floornotes' => $floornotes));
        } else {
            echo json_encode(array('status' => false));
        }
    }
?>

I think the issue was by ths following , First I apologize for the title but I just don't know how to put it in one row.
code :
SELECT count(lskinid) AS "Total Subaccounts",
(SELECT refname FROM lskin as [in] WHERE in.lskinid = out.masterlskin) AS "Account Name"
FROM lskin as [Out]
WHERE isactive = 1
Group by masterlskin
