Linux/Unix Find Command

fixed the issue. Will look into that further the {5} is a syntax from extended regular expressions not from shell globbing. It is not valid with -name.
You can use -regex instead of -name with some find versions (GNU). In that case your pattern have to match the whole path, be careful with * and ? and . as they have different meanings in regular expressions.
code :
find -E . -regex '.+/skr[0-9]{5}\.rtf' -type f
brew install findutils --default-names

I wish this helpful for you I would like to swap out every instance of "/this/name/" with "/that/name/" (within the files of a directory) - I'm just not sure how. , Sure, use the -exec flag of find
code :
find /path -type f -exec perl -pi -e "..." {} \;

hope this fix your issue To answer your question, no, you can't put the files to ignore into an array and expect to have find know about them. An array is an artifact of your shell (bash I assume), and the find tool is a separate binary, outside your shell.
That said, you can use an array to generate options for find.
code :
#!/usr/bin/env bash

a=(file1 file2 file3)

declare -a fopt=()
for f in "${a[@]}"; do
  if [ "${#fopt[@]}" -eq 0 ]; then
    fopt+=("-name '$f'")
  else
    fopt+=("-o -name '$f'")
  fi
done

echo "find . -not ( ${fopt[@]} )"

Unix and Linux Cut command to equivalent with the For Loop DOS command

I think the issue was by ths following , DOS doesn't have a FOR loop like the one you're trying, but I suspect you don't mean DOS as OpenSSL has not been ported to that operating system. If you mean Windows, then the command you need is:
code :
(for /f "tokens=2 delims==" %a in ('openssl x509 -serial -noout -in cacert.pem') do @echo %a) > serial
