fixed the issue. Will look into that further Your $scope.formData object has more property than expected by the webservice.
You should provide to your webservice an object which has at most two properties of type string: offerType and offerTitle. I think you currently have more properties than expected or you don't have the correct type, thus the bad request exception.
code :
$scope.submitOffer = function () {
    $http({
        method: 'POST',
        url: '/offer/submitOffer',
        data: {
            offerType: $scope.formData.offerType,
            offerTitle: $scope.formData.offerTitle
        }
    }).
    success(function (data, status, headers, config) {
        $scope.successMsg = data;
    }).
    error(function (data, status, headers, config) {
        if (status == 400) {
            $scope.errMessages = data;
        } else {
            alert('Unexpected server error.');
        }

    });
};

Like this:
code :
return "redirect:success";

may help you . I just figured it out. The trick is to nest the pojos into another pojo.
code :
public class Nest {
    @Valid
    private Foo one = null;

    @Valid
    private Foo two = null;
    .... getters and setters
}
@Controller
@RequestMapping(value = "/path", method = RequestMethod.POST)
public class Control {
    public String handler(@Valid Nest nest, BindingResult res_nest){
             //Business logic
    }
}
<form action="/path">
    <input name="one.bar" type="text" />
    <input name="one.baz" type="text" />
    <input name="two.bar" type="text" />
    <input name="two.baz" type="text" />
</form>

should help you out I am using Spring validator for form validation. Here is the structure of my code. As you can see, I have to manually call validate in the POST method. Is there any way for me to wire the validator into the form processing without me calling validate()? , You can do it this way:
code :
@RequestMapping(value = "/save", method = RequestMethod.POST)
public ModelAndView saveEntity(@Valid Entity entity, BindingResult result) {
    if (result.hasErrors()) {
           // do something
    }
    // do something else
}
@InitBinder("entity")
public void initBinder(WebDataBinder binder) {
    binder.setValidator(new EntityValidator());
}

wish helps you Your error is from JSONObject serialization not Spring's since you are not using @RequestBody (you might take a look here). Your json is an array which you are trying to convert into an object objects are the things between { }, thats why it's given you exception, you need a JSONArray instead
code :
String[] addresses = request.getParameterValues("addresses");
for(String address : addresses) {
    System.out.println(address);
    JSONArray jArray = new JSONArray(address); //here!
    System.out.println(jArray.toString());
   //interate over array (like any other array) and do stuff, get the objects etc..
}

code :
taskDelete(@ModelAttribute("selectedTasks") String[] selectedTasks)
taskDelete(@RequestParam String[] selectedTasks)
