Does that help When you want to make a request to some other application running in the same OpenShift cluster, the correct solution in most cases is to use the internal DNS.
OpenShift ships with a SDN which enables comms between Pods. This is more efficient than communicating to another Pod via its route since this will typically route the request back onto the public internet before it hits the OpenShift router again and is at that point forwarded via the SDN.

fixed the issue. Will look into that further I deployed sample spring boot web application on openshift cluster using base image openshift/wildfly-101-centos7. During deployment phase I am getting bellow error in pod log. , You need to change the starter web dependency as:
code :
<dependency>
    <groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
    <artifactId>spring-boot-starter-web</artifactId>
    <exclusions>
        <exclusion>
            <groupId>org.apache.tomcat.embed</groupId>
            <artifactId>tomcat-embed-websocket</artifactId>
        </exclusion>
    </exclusions>
</dependency>
<dependency>
    <groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
    <artifactId>spring-boot-starter-tomcat</artifactId>
    <scope>provided</scope>
</dependency>

To fix this issue Are you by chance running a scaled application? If so, you can't deploy your war file using SCP/SFTP, as the WAR file will not be deployed on all of the applications gears. You will have to use "git push" to deploy it. You can refer to this section of the developer portal (https://developers.openshift.com/en/tomcat-deployment-options.html) for more information on deploying WAR files on OpenShift Online.
Also, it would be helpful if you checked your log files on your gear to make sure that the WAR was actually deployed.
