fixed the issue. Will look into that further Crashlytics supports iOS beta distribution on CI boxes. The dSYM upload process is the same (via Run Script Build Phase), but beta distribution is handled via command line calling the 'submit' binary.
Here's a KB article with all params: http://support.crashlytics.com/knowledgebase/articles/370383-beta-distribution-with-ios-build-servers

I wish did fix the issue. After trial and error we've came up with this:
Put these files into the root of your repo https://github.com/aspnet/KoreBuild/tree/1.0.0/template Copy .travis.yml from a aspnet project e.g. https://github.com/aspnet/EntityFramework/blob/dev/.travis.yml Remove parts you don't want, like branches and notifications Make sure your solution and global.json is in the same directory as build.sh
code :
language: csharp
install: curl -s https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dotnet/cli/rel/1.0.0-preview2/scripts/obtain/dotnet-install.sh
script: ./build.sh //Add the file to repo

hop of those help? Apparently Travis-Ci switched from xbuild to msbuild as default build platform. And currently the msbuild platform does not fully support standard .NET projects on UNIX based systems only .NET core.
So a temporary workaround is to reconfigure the travis.yml file to build with xbuild.
code :
language: csharp
solution: {path to .sln}
script:
  - xbuild /p:Configuration=Release {path to .sln}
