I wish this help you You either need to import the project as a Gradle project from within Idea. When you add a dependency you need to open the Gradle window and perform a refresh.
Alternatively generate the project files from gradle with this:
code :
apply plugin: 'idea'
$ gradle idea

around this issue The best solution I found was to set the transitive "compile" dependencies from the jar module as provided using the following code in the Gradle configuration file:
code :
apply plugin: 'idea'

configurations {
    provided
    provided.extendsFrom(compile)
}

idea {
    module {
        scopes.PROVIDED.plus += configurations.provided
    }
}
idea {
    module {
        scopes.PROVIDED.plus += [configurations.provided]
    }
}

will help you Just like in Maven, the dependencies you declared can have further dependencies that are declared by the package supplier (a.k.a transitive dependency management) - those will be added automatically, just like you observed. More info here.

I hope this helps . Follow the documentation, open the Maven repository page for the dependency you need.
On the right you will see the format for Gradle:
code :
implementation 'org.optaplanner:optaplanner-core:7.20.0.Final'
