To fix the issue you can do so I am trying to make a simple app that mutes the media volume then closes itself. When I run the app I get two problems first it does not change the volume, and second it claims the app crashed on my phone witch I don't want to happen. Hers my code: , The stack trace is telling you what to do...
code :
@Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
    super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
    AudioManager mgr=null;
    mgr=(AudioManager)getSystemService(Context.AUDIO_SERVICE);
    mgr.setStreamVolume(AudioManager.STREAM_MUSIC, 0, AudioManager.FLAG_REMOVE_SOUND_AND_VIBRATE);
    finish();
}

fixed the issue. Will look into that further Yes, a Timer can fire repeatedly. Therefore you should Stop and Start it each time you get a volumeChange notification. While these come in faster than the Timer.Interval nothing else will happen. Once they stop coming, the Timer.Tick will finally fire. Here you stop the Timer one last time and fire your own event.
Using a Timer VolumeTimer and the original sources:
code :
defaultDevice.AudioEndpointVolume.OnVolumeNotification += new
    AudioEndpointVolumeNotificationDelegate(
       AudioEndpointVolume_OnVolumeNotification);

void AudioEndpointVolume_OnVolumeNotification(AudioVolumeNotificationData data)
{
   VolumeTimer.Interval = 100;  // ms, test to gauge!
   VolumeTimer.Stop();
   VolumeTimer.Start();
}

private void VolumeTimer_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
   VolumeTimer.Stop();
   // whatever you want to do, when the volume no longer changes:
   yourEvent();
}
void AudioEndpointVolume_OnVolumeNotification(AudioVolumeNotificationData data)
{
   VolumeTimer.Interval = 100;  // ms, test to gauge!
   VolumeTimer.Stop();
   VolumeTimer.Start();
   if (!VolumeUiTimer.Enabled)
      { VolumeUiTimer.Interval = 500; VolumeUiTimer.Start();
}

private void VolumeTimer_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e)
{ // no more changes: all timers stop, update UI
   VolumeTimer.Stop();
   VolumeUiTimer.Stop();
   // whatever you want to do, when the volume no longer changes:
   yourEvent();
}

private void VolumeUiTimer_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e)
{  //restart timer1, stop timer2, update UI
   VolumeTimer.Stop();
   VolumeTimer.Start();
   VolumeUiTimer.Stop();
   // whatever you want to do, when the volume no longer changes:
   yourEvent();
}

I hope this helps . In an Android Studio app, the volume in the following is not changing; it remains at the loudest setting. The commented code is depreciated, but is working. How do I use the bundle in the new API? , Use
code :
b.putFloat(KEY_PARAM_VOLUME, 0.1f);

I wish this help you The error here was that FFmpeg does NOT perform in-place editing which means that I can not overwrite the same File. I tried overwriting by adding command "-y" but that did not also work because of that same rule.
So the solution was to create a new File as output File.

help you fix your problem FFmpeg does NOT perform in-place editing. Input file has to be separate from output file. Also, -i expects an argument (input filename) which should follow next. -y forces overwrites and you can put it first.
So,
code :
{ "-y -i " , pcmtowavTempFile.toString(),  "-af", "volume=5", pcmtoSOMEOTHERTempFile.toString()};
