should help you out I want uicollectionviewcell move like things on assembly line. Now I use , UICollectionView inherits from UIScrollView, so you can use
code :
// determine point, which you want to scroll
CGPoint scrollPoint = CGPointMake(0, self.tableView.contentSize.height - self.tableView.frame.size.height);
// scroll to it, with custom animation duration
[UIView animateWithDuration:5 animations:^{
    [self.tableView setContentOffset:scrollPoint];
    // Also you can use scrollToItemAtIndexPath here instead of setContentOffset
}];

seems to work fine I have a UICollectionView in my storyboard based iOS app. When the device is in the portrait orientation I'd like it to scroll vertically, and when it's in Landscaper I'd like it to scroll horizontally.
code :
UICollectionViewFlowLayout *flowLayout = [[UICollectionViewFlowLayout alloc] init];
[flowLayout setScrollDirection:UICollectionViewScrollDirectionVertical];
@interface LayoutHorizontalThings : UICollectionViewFlowLayout
@end

@implementation LayoutHorizontalBooks
-(void)prepareLayout
    {
    [super prepareLayout];

    self.scrollDirection = UICollectionViewScrollDirectionHorizontal;

    self.minimumInteritemSpacing = 0;
    self.minimumLineSpacing = 0;
    self.itemSize = CGSizeMake(110,130);
    self.sectionInset = UIEdgeInsetsMake(0, 0, 0, 0);
    }

help you fix your problem I have a UICollectionView. I want to detect scroll direction. I have a two different animation style for scroll down and scroll up. So I must learn scroll direction. , Try this:
Add this somewhere in you header:
code :
@property (nonatomic) CGFloat lastContentOffset;
#pragma mark - UIScrollViewDelegate

- (void)scrollViewDidScroll:(UIScrollView *)scrollView
{
    if (self.lastContentOffset > scrollView.contentOffset.y)
    {
        NSLog(@"Scrolling Up");
    }
    else if (self.lastContentOffset < scrollView.contentOffset.y)
    {
        NSLog(@"Scrolling Down");
    }

    self.lastContentOffset = scrollView.contentOffset.y;
}

let layout = UICollectionViewFlowLayout()
layout.scrollDirection = .vertical
let collectionView = UICollectionView(frame: frame, collectionViewLayout: layout)
if let layout = collectionView.collectionViewLayout as? UICollectionViewFlowLayout {
    layout.scrollDirection = .vertical

I wish this helpful for you 1) return some very large number from ‘collectionView:numberOfItemsInSection:’ , like NSIntegerMax
2) in ‘collectionView:cellForItemAtIndexPath’ rather than just indexing directly into the datasource array to get the data to populate the cell use a % operator. I.E. do:
code :
let item = datasource[indexPath.row % dataSource.count]
let item = datasource[indexPath.row]
