UDP Socket error 10049

UDP Socket error 10049

I hope this helps . You're passing a pointer to the SOCKADDR_IN structure as third argument to inet_pton, but if you follow the link to the MSDN reference of the function you will see that it wants an IN_ADDR structure.
The SOCKADDR_IN structure has such a member, but it's not the first member in the structure, which is why you get the error; You write the address to the wrong place in the structure and the address you try to send to is not what you think it is.
code :
inet_pton(AF_INET, ip, &addr.sin_addr)

Hope that helps What you should do is handle the Error event of the TClientSocket, because that is where you will be able to capture your socket errors.
The ErrorCode parameter is the one that will have the WinSock Error code If you want to silence the Error, you can set ErrorCode to 0, which will prevent the exception from being thrown, and after that you can identify what the error is and handle it the way you want it
code :
procedure TForm1.ClientSocket1Error(Sender: TObject;
  Socket: TCustomWinSocket; ErrorEvent: TErrorEvent;
  var ErrorCode: Integer);
var error : Integer;

   error := ErrorCode; {prevent exception from being thrown}

   ErrorCode := 0;

   if error = 10049 then
     showmessage('asynchronous socket error');

will help you This normally results from an attempt to bind to an address that is not valid for the local computer..
You should use PF_INET here instead of AF_INET. They have the same value, but you're not specifying an address family AF here, you're specifying a protocol family PF. This is just a style recommendation.
code :
struct sockaddr_in6 server, client;
SOCKET sock;
char buffer[BUFFERSIZE];
LPTSTR recvBuff[1024];

To fix this issue My guess is you are using Windows based on the error number, which according to Microsoft, Errno 10049 is the following:
Python UDP networking socket.error: [Errno 10049]

Python UDP networking socket.error: [Errno 10049]

I wish did fix the issue. I am trying to establish a simple UDP connection using Python code, between 2 PCs through internet. Code run on PC_1: , change print s.recv(30) to:
code :
data, addr = s.recvfrom(30)
print data
HOST = "ip_address_of_PC2"
