Any of those help Unfortunately, there is currently no way to do it dynamically without writing the plugin by yourself. There is though quite a ready plugin by GitHub user yoik which you can extend to include the Windows Phone 8. The code to include support for WP8 isn't probably that difficult to code and here seems to instructions for that.
Just to conclude this case
code :
SupportedOrientations="Landscape" Orientation="Landscape"
<preference name="orientation" value="landscape" />

this one helps. The correct directory-name for the landscape layouts is 'layout-land', see here.
If you do this, you don't need to do other things, Android will do the rest for you.

may help you . I had the same. This is (or was, at least I don't know whether they've fixed this) a known RIM issue. Check this BB support forum thread.

wish of those help It's a little trick, but I've solved it.
First, if the orientation has to change, I save the old orientation. When I click the button that allow orientation change again, first I put the old orientation and then, I allow auto-orientation.
code :
private var oldOrientation:String = null;

protected function click(event:MouseEvent):void{
   if(stage.orientation != StageOrientation.DEFAULT){
            oldOrientation = stage.orientation;
            stage.addEventListener(StageOrientationEvent.ORIENTATION_CHANGE, orientationChanged);

private function orientationChanged(event:StageOrientationEvent):void{
            // do something if you are changing to portrait mode (the first change) and other thing if you are changing to old orientation
if(oldOrientation != null){

        oldOrientation = null;

it helps some times As far as I know, this is not possible. You have either screen rotation, or off. Not conditionally on. You can change your GUI of your app, depending on screen rotation and size.
Your question is to general to give a specific answer. But if you want to see an example, check out my repo jpHolo. It features an interface for smartphones and tablets and you can add code for screen changes easily.

will be helpful for those in need To find out if the device is a 7, 8 or 10 inches tablet, you can check this.
One way you can manipulate the device orientation is in every activity, after onCreate(), like this:
code :
    // set the orientation of the device
    if(isTabletWith10Inches) {
    } else {
