Hope that helps The argument to rjust needs to be the length of the longest string, not the current string.
code :
print (star*num).rjust(a)

code :
print((str(unique_emails[x]) + ": ").ljust(20) +
      str(my_emails.count(unique_emails[x])).rjust(4))

help you fix your problem Here's one way to do this in plain Python. We use zip to transpose the table so we can get the maximum width of each column.
code :
table_data = [
    ['apples', 'oranges', 'cherries', 'banana'],
    ['Alice', 'Bob', 'Carol', 'David'],
    ['dogs', 'cats', 'moose', 'goose'],
]

# Determine the width of each column
widths = [max(map(len, column)) for column in zip(*table_data)]
new_table = [[s.rjust(w) for s, w in zip(row, widths)]
    for row in table_data]

for row in new_table:
    print(row)
['apples', 'oranges', 'cherries', 'banana']
[' Alice', '    Bob', '   Carol', ' David']
['  dogs', '   cats', '   moose', ' goose']
for row in table_data:
    print(*(s.rjust(w) for s, w in zip(row, widths)))
apples oranges cherries banana
 Alice     Bob    Carol  David
  dogs    cats    moose  goose
widths = [max(map(len, row)) for row in table_data]
new_table = [[s.rjust(w) for s, w in zip(row, widths)] for row in zip(*table_data)]
for row in new_table:
    print(row)
['  apples', 'Alice', ' dogs']
[' oranges', '  Bob', ' cats']
['cherries', 'Carol', 'moose']
['  banana', 'David', 'goose']

Any of those help Your 2 examples aren't the same. rjust doesn't insert the number of fill characters you specify, it inserts the number needed to fill out that total length. If self.name is long enough, it will be returned unchanged
