What is the equivalent of FirstSibling in .NET XMLNode?

With these it helps I have a dynamic number of elements in an xml doc. When I reach the end of those elements I was to set the attribute on the first of these siblings to true again. , Use XPath with the preceding-sibling axis:
code :
Dim firstSibling As XmlNode = parentNode.SelectNodes("preceding-sibling::*")(0)

Migrating from VB6 to .NET, is there an equivalent function for TreeNode.FirstSibling?

I wish did fix the issue. The desktop application I'm migrating makes heavy use of a TreeView control, and many calls to TreeNode.FirstSibling, e.g. , Well to have a sibling it has to have a parent, so you could do
code :
myTreeNode.Parent.FirstNode
myTreeNode.Parent.Nodes[0]
myTreeNode.Parent.LastNode

should help you out Okay, I figured out the solution.
The key to this is that you don't want to replace the text of the actual node. There is a actually a child representation of just the text. I was able to accomplish what I needed with this code:
code :
private static void replace(Node root){
    if (root.getNodeType() == root.TEXT_NODE){
        root.setTextContent(root.getTextContent().replace("Home Owners Agreement", "HMO"));
    }
    for (int i = 0; i < root.getChildNodes().getLength(); i++){
        outputTextOfNode(root.getChildNodes().item(i));
    }
}

it should still fix some issue XmlNode is a bit obsolete. You should be using LINQ to XML.
The base class of all objects in LINQ to XML is XObject. This class has an AddAnnotation method that allows you to attach arbitrary data to an XObject.

To fix the issue you can do You said you want to select the first tab and assign a className to it. I think the solution to it is rather trivial and similar to this (I didn't test it):
code :
React.renderComponent(<Tabs><Tab isSelected = true title="Tab1"></Tab><Tab title="Tab2"></Tab></Tabs>,  document.getElementById('content'));

var Tab = React.createClass({
    render: function() {
        return (
          <li className={"tab " + (this.props.isSelected ? "selected" :"") }>
                {this.props.title}
          </li>
      );
    } });
var TabHeader = React.createClass({
    render: function() {
        return (
          <li className={"tabHeader " + this.props.className}
                onClick={this.props.onClick}>
              {this.props.header}
          </li>
      );
    }
});

var TabContent = React.createClass({
    render: function() {
        return (
          <div className={"tabContent " + this.props.className}>
              {this.props.content}
          </div>
      );
    }
});

var Tabs = React.createClass({

    getInitialState: function(){
        return {
            selectedTabNo : this.props.initialSelected ? this.props.initialSelected : 0
        }
    },

    getHeaderClass : function(i){
        return this.state.selectedTabNo == i ? "selected" : "";
    },

    getContentClass : function(i){
        return this.state.selectedTabNo == i ? "selected" : "hidden";
    },

    handleClick: function(i,e){
        this.setState({selectedTabNo:i});
        e.preventDefault();
    },

    render: function() {

      var headers = [];
      var i = 0;

      this.props.tabs.forEach(function(tab){
          headers.push(<TabHeader header={ tab.header }
                             key={"tab"+i}
                             onClick = {this.handleClick.bind(this,i)}
                             className = {this.getHeaderClass(i)} />);
          i++;
      }.bind(this));

      var contents = [];
      i=0;
      this.props.tabs.forEach(function(tab){
          contents.push(<TabContent content={ tab.content }
                                    key={"content"+i}
                                    className = {this.getContentClass(i)} />);
          i++;
      }.bind(this));

      return (
          <div className="tabsContainer">
              <ul className="tabHeadings">
                {headers}
              </ul>
              {contents}
          </div>
      );
    }
});

var App = React.createClass({
    render: function() {
        return( <Tabs initialSelected={2}
                      tabs={[{header:"step1", content:<div>This is page 1</div>},
                             {header:"step2", content:<div>This is page 2</div>},
                             {header:"step3", content:<div>This is page 3</div>} ]} /> );
   }
});

React.render(<App />, document.body);
