Star Schema Structure - To many Dimensions

Does that help Do not put the description in the fact table. The purpose of the fact is to measure events. Dimensions show the possible attributes of an event, even if the event hasn't occurred. A restaurant menu would be a dimension, the food ordered by the customer is the fact event.
It looks like you may need to denormalize your dimensions. For example, if your cycle gear has type, number & manufacturer, make it a single cycle gear dimension with one ID and three description attributes.

like below fixes the issue Most data-warehouses (DW) do not have foreign keys implemented as constraints, because:

With these it helps I`m new to data warehousing, but I think my question can be relatively easy answered. I built a star schema, with a dimension table 'product'. This table has a column 'PropertyName' and a column 'PropertyValue'. The dimension therefore looks a little like this: , Your dimension table 'product' should look like this:
code :
surrogate_key | natural_key (productID) | Color | Material | Size | ...
    1 5 red wood 20 ...
    2 6 red ...
Star Schema Design: Use 2 Dimensions or 1 Conformed Dimension when source systems relate many to one (N:1)?

I wish this helpful for you That's a pretty standard 1:n hierarchy that you'd create a single dimension for. Repetition of values is accepted as a worthwhile attribute of dimension tables in order to avoid joins.

this one helps. If I understand your situation correctly, you are recording values that represent some system status at a point of time. In other words, you are capturing the system's snapshot in time. In a star schema, you should then use a "periodic snapshot fact table". Such fact tables capture values regardless if they have changed or not, because their grain is a unit of date/time, not a transaction.
Time dimension can be modeled in several ways. I would do the following:
Star schema, normalized dimensions, denormalized hierarchy level keys

I wish this helpful for you You are building a snowflake schema with shortcuts.
It's used and BI tools can easily use the shortcuts.
