it should still fix some issue Solidworks has its own system (workgroup PDM) its made for that. You can use git but Git is not really good for big files. Its better for small files which contains Text.
But the best way is to find it and find it out and make some tests.

should help you out I'm partial to Git, but I believe the theory applies to most other systems...
Decentralized VCS is designed to handle branching and merging as part of its DNA by keeping a pointer to the previous commit in every commit, so any change can be traced back to a common ancestor.

This might help you The question sebasgo is pointing to really has a lot of good answers, but let me tell you my personal experience anyway. I work with a handful of other people scattered all over the U.S. doing what is essentially private consulting work. Clients vary in size, but our team is small, and we work fairly fast. The code is commercial but owned by the clients when we are done.
We use Mercurial, but the specific tool is less important than the general workflow of using distributed version control as opposed to centralized. In my experience there a two big advantages to productivity that I no longer want to work without:

To fix this issue I know there are quite a few git-based wikis such as git-wiki, WiGit and gitit. A simple google search will bring up many others, I'm sure.
I also know of some git-based bug trackers such as ticgit which basically lets you keep your tickets in a separate branch of a git repository. There's also DisTract.

like below fixes the issue Reliability
If your harddisk silently starts corrupting data, you damn well want to know about it. Git takes SHA1 hashes of everything you commit. You have 1 central repo with SVN and if its bits get silently modified by a faulty HDD controller you won't know about it till it's too late.

Hope this helps A DVCS like Git or Mercurial would definitely be a sensible choice, especially for:
distributed development distributed repos (including one dedicated for those checks of yours)
