seems to work fine You can't find the string which has the maximum length only through regex. You need to use some built-in Ruby functions.
code :
> m = "aaBBBBcBBdDDD".scan(/[[:upper:]]+/)
=> ["BBBB", "BB", "DDD"]
> vc = m.sort{|a,b| b.size <=> a.size}
=> ["BBBB", "DDD", "BB"]
> vc.delete_if{|a| a.size < vc.first.size}
=> ["BBBB"]

this one helps. String.indexOf(substring) will return you the first part, String.slice() with parameters will let you truncate your string. The manual

help you fix your problem Here is a way to go using preg_replace:
code :
$text = "This is my string exec001 and this is the rest of the string exec222 and here is even more execSOMEWORD a very long string!";
$text2 = preg_replace('/\bexec(\S+)/', "<html>$1</html><div>$1</div>", $text);
echo $text2,"\n";
This is my string <html>001</html><div>001</div> and this is the rest of the string <html>222</html><div>222</div> and here is even more <html>SOMEWORD</html><div>SOMEWORD</div> a very long string!
$text2 = preg_replace('/\bexec([^:\s]+):([^:\s]+)/', "<html>$1</html><div>$2</div>", $text);

help you fix your problem Imagine this case: you have a list L that contains just 2 nodes (A and B) in your linked list. Imagine that both nodes A and B contain a substring you are looking for:

seems to work fine , Here's a way of doing:
code :
d = []

for k in key_words_to_search:
    print(k)
    i = df.applymap(lambda x: k in x)
    i = i.astype(int).mask(i, i.columns.to_series(), axis=1).astype(str).agg(lambda x: ','.join(i for i in x if not i.isdigit()), 1)
    d.append(i)

df[['hello','goodbye']] = pd.concat(d, axis=1)

print(df)

          col1         col2    col3      hello goodbye
0 hello hello panda ni hao col1,col2
1  hello panda      goodbye    hola       col1    col2
2       ni hao      goodbye   hello       col3    col2

Can Drupal's search module search for a substring? (Partial Search)

wish of those help Recently I made a patch for Drupal's core search module to provide it with partial search (aka n-gram searches) ability. This is tested against Drupal 6.15 & 6.16 releases. You might want to read about patching.
On the other hand you can make use of Apache Solr Search Integration, Search Lucene API modules or other 3rd-party search solutions which takes more time to implement.
