Python PIL - open image from file object: File not open for reading

hop of those help? You opened the file for writing, not reading. You'd have to use a dual mode, and first rewind the file pointer:
code :
with open('myimage.png', 'w+b') as imgfile:
    imgfile.write(decodestring(base64_image))
    imgfile.seek(0)
    f = Image.open(imgfile)
from io import BytesIO

imgfile = BytesIO(decodestring(base64_image))
f = Image.open(imgfile)

help you fix your problem Do files opened like file("foo.txt") have any info about file modification time?
code :
import os
filepath = '/path/to/file'
modifytime1 = os.path.getmtime(filepath)
fp = open(filepath)
modifytime2 = os.path.getmtime(filepath)
if modifytime1 != modifytime2:
    print "File modified after opening"

I wish this help you You already have PIL image objects; qr.make_image() returns the (a wrapper around) the right type of object and you do not need to open them again.
As such, all you need to do is:
code :
base = img_list[0]
base = img_list[0].convert('RGBA')

will be helpful for those in need You should use open("input.txt").readlines(), not open("input.txt").read().split("\n"). If you try "".split("\n") in the interpreter, you will see that the result is [''], not [].

it helps some times Have a look at the mmap module: http://docs.python.org/library/mmap.html
It will allow you to use the file as an array, while the OS handles the actual reading and buffering.

I wish did fix the issue. This looks like you are trying to open a directory instead of a file.
Change your code so that you open a file by its name.
