it fixes the issue You can use the extrafont package.
code :
install.packages("extrafont")
library(extrafont)
font_import()
loadfonts(device="win") #Register fonts for Windows bitmap output
fonts() #vector of font family names
##  [1] "Andale Mono"                  "AppleMyungjo"
##  [3] "Arial Black"                  "Arial"
## [5] "Arial Narrow" "Arial Rounded MT Bold"

library(ggplot2)
data(mtcars)
ggplot(mtcars, aes(x=wt, y=mpg)) + geom_point() +
  ggtitle("Fuel Efficiency of 32 Cars") +
  xlab("Weight (x1000 lb)") + ylab("Miles per Gallon") +
  theme_bw() +
  theme(text=element_text(family="Times New Roman", face="bold", size=12)) #Times New Roman, 12pt, Bold

should help you out Still not exactly sure what you wanted but using the interaction function on two factors on hte LHS of the formula might get what you need after converting to horizontal-TRUE.
code :
bwplot(interaction(Season,Repro) ~ Comp1, data = moose,
   cex = .5,
   xlab = "Principal component 1", ylab = "Season", horizontal=TRUE,
   par.settings = list(
      box.rectangle = list(col = 1),
      box.umbrella  = list(col = 1),
      plot.symbol   = list(cex = .5, col = 1)),
       scales = list(x = list(relation = "same"),
                     y = list(relation = "same")))

Hope this helps After running this code (note you have to scroll down to view it all), I almost get what I want. (See the picture below the code) , Use a named vector for scale_color_manual, e.g.:
code :
mlb_plots <- lapply(c("ALEast", "NLEast", "ALCentral", "NLCentral", "ALWest", "NLWest"), function(d) {
  ggplot(df3[df3$Division==d,], aes(x=Year, y=Wins, color = Team))+
    geom_path(aes(color = Team)) +
    scale_color_manual(values = setNames(cust, levels(df3$Team))) +
    labs(title = paste(substr(d, 1, 2), substr(d, 3, nchar(as.character(d)))),
         y = "Wins",
         x = "Year") +
    guides(color=guide_legend("Team",override.aes=list(size=3)))
})

grid.arrange(grobs=mlb_plots)

I wish did fix the issue. You should check out QChart.js:

will be helpful for those in need I'm trying to use Matplotlib graphs as part of a camera-ready submission, and the publishing house requires the use of Type 1 fonts only. , This is the code I use for camera-ready submissions:
I have almost succeeded in putting latex fonts into R graphs, but it's slightly off

seems to work fine Sorry for this. I looked at the code and figured it out! I needed to remove
