To fix this issue There's no way to change where the .pyc files go. Python 3.2 implements the __pycache__ scheme whereby all the .pyc files go into a directory named __pycache__. Python 3.2 alpha 1 is available now if you really need to keep your directories clean.
Until 3.2 is released, configure as many tools as you can to ignore the .pyc files.

it fixes the issue The larger the size of the current primary's oplog, the longer the window of time a replica set member will be able to remain offline without falling too far behind the primary. If it does fall too far behind, it will need a full resync.
The field timeDiffHours as returned by db.getReplicationInfo() reports how many hours worth of data the oplog currently has recorded. After the oplog has filled up and starts overwriting old entries, then start to monitor this value. Do so especially under heavy write load (in which the value will decrease). If you then assume it will never drop below N hours, then N is the maximum number of hours that you can tolerate a replica set member being temporarily offline (e.g. for regular maintenance, or to make an offline backup, or in the event of hardware failure) without performing the full resync. The member would then be able to automatically catch up to the primary after coming back online.

fixed the issue. Will look into that further I am using mongodb with elasticsearch for my application. Elasticsearch creates indexes by monitioring oplog collection. When both the applications are running constantly then any changes to the collections in mongodb are immediately indexed. The only problem I face is if for some reason I had to delete and recreate the index then it takes ages(2days) for the indexing to complete. , I am not a Elastic Search Pro but your question:

will help you It's because mongodb preallocates storage files. Suppose, you fill those two files up pretty quickly. You don't want to wait while a new file is allocated, because on some filesystems it may take time. Instead, mongodb arranges so that at each moment there is an empty file, ready to be written to.

I wish did fix the issue. The problem with this approach is that it's extremely low-level. It will be excruciatingly annoying to recover this information to a point where it makes sense from an application perspective.
For instance, let's say you're changing the name of a user. Do you use $set or do you replace the user object? From an application point of view, it doesn't matter, but the oplog will look completely different. Also, if you're using the replace, the information contained in the oplog will not contain only the changes, but only the new state. That means that the only way to understand what was really going on is to perform a full replay of all operations (so you have the old and the new state).
