How can I set an output directory for rdmd (Windows)?

this will help You got the syntax of -offilename wrong. filename is a sample value. You need to replace it: -of..\bin\example.exe. Many other dmd options work in the same way.
Also, rdmd doesn't pass arguments that come after the source file to dmd. They are interpreted as arguments to the program that's built and run (regardless of --build-only). That means, you need to put -of..\bin\example.exe before example.d:

wish help you to fix your issue I have a class file with a unit test block in it like so , I cannot reproduce your bug. Here's my test code:
code :
class SomeClass {
  // class stuff...
  unittest {
    import std.stdio;
    writeln("unittested");

help you fix your problem
Is there something I need to install before my D code will compile?
Why might rdmd not be running all unit tests?

I hope this helps you . It seems that this results from the way that rdmd orders the unit tests, which is not in the way I'd expected.
It appears that RDMD calls the unit tests for an instantiated template class not at the time of instantiation, but instead immediately after the unit test in which the class is instantiated has completed.
code :
import std.stdio;

class c1{
        int c1func(int blah){ return blah; }
        unittest{
                writeln("Testing c1 func.");
                stdout.flush();
        }
}

class c2(T:c3) : c1{
        private static int c2func(int blah){ return blah; }
        unittest{
                writeln("Testing c2 func.");
                stdout.flush();
        }

        int c2fun2(int blah){
                T tmp = new T();
                return tmp.c3fun(blah);
        }
}

class c3{
        abstract int c3fun(int blah);
}

class c4 : c3{
        override int c3fun(int blah){ return blah; }
}

unittest{
        writeln("Testing class c1.");
        stdout.flush();
        c1 myc2 = new c2!(c4)();
        assert(1==0);
}

hop of those help? Config-specific property RUNTIME_OUTPUT_DIRECTORY_ has priority over common one RUNTIME_OUTPUT_DIRECTORY. Both types of properties are initialized from corresponded CMAKE_* variable(if it is set) when executable target is created.
So, having e.g CMAKE_RUNTIME_OUTPUT_DIRECTORY_DEBUG config-specific variable being set makes this variable to be used for Debug configuration even if RUNTIME_OUTPUT_DIRECTORY property is explicitely set. The only way to redefine output directory in that case is to set RUNTIME_OUTPUT_DIRECTORY_DEBUG config-specific property.

To fix the issue you can do If you include other project with add_subdirectory command, you may link with the libraries, created in that project, using their target names:
code :
target_link_libraries(project_a project_b)
