How to delete the mistakenly case-changed renamed tag in github?

wish helps you I had a tag v1.0.0-RC1 in my Github repo. I wanted to rename it to all lowercase like v1.0.0-rc1. So, I did it from the release edit page https://github.com/username/repo/releases/edit/v1.0.0-RC1. I found that it created a new tag v1.0.0-rc1 and it made me having two duplicate tags v1.0.0-RC1 and v1.0.0-rc1 in my repo. ,
But I'm afraid that it could delete the both tag rc1 and RC1.

Hope that helps As l0b0 told you, it is impossible revert it without backup.
Some help could come from the file command, what can detect compiled executables, and scripts with shebang line.
code :
find /mnt/hdd -type f -print | file -f -
find /mnt/hdd -type f -print | file -i -f -
find . -type f -print0 | xargs -0 file

Any of those help The [ is not a special character once a quoted name has been started, so does not need to be escaped.
The ] is a special character, and must be escaped to keep its literal meaning. To escape it, double it.

Does that help The only file permissions Git does track is whether something is executable or not. If you haven’t made a change on the executable bit, then there will be no permission change in your commit and others will not be affected by it.
The file permissions will stay active within your local working directory though, so you should be aware of that. It is possible that certain actions (e.g. checking out a different branch) may or may not overwrite the file permissions on those files individually again in the check-out process.

hop of those help? It sounds like you based your code2 branch off of code1 instead of master. When you did that, you included all the code that was in that branch at that point, including code1.java.
When you merged code2, Git considered only three points for the merge: the merge base (commit 2) and the two heads. Since the file was unchanged on one side (commit 6) and there was a modification (the deletion) on the other side, Git applied the modification and deleted the file.
