Hope that helps Checkbox-state is nothing else than an Boolean? -> Nullable bool. You can simple serialize it using an xmlserializer or write it manually to the file:

I hope this helps . This is rather a general question. You need to serialise the state yourself somehow, but how, and where to depends on a lot of things.
Possibly take a look at a Settings file for a simple start.

wish helps you I have checkbox in my android app. My checkbox is checked when app's first run. What if user disable checkbox? I don't want to save preferences in my app. , Add below code in your checkbox onclick method :
code :
SharedPreferences.Editor editor = this.getPreferences(0).edit();
if(cbRememberMe.isChecked()){
    checkPreference = true;
    editor.putString("savename", etUserName.getText().toString().trim());
    editor.putString("savepassword", etPassword.getText().toString().trim());
    editor.putBoolean("check", checkPreference);
    editor.commit();
    Log.i("Remember Me", "checked,preference added");
}
else{
    checkPreference = false;
    editor.putString("savename", "");
    editor.putString("savepassword", "");
    editor.putBoolean("check", checkPreference);
    editor.commit();
    Log.i("Remember Me", "Unchecked, preferences removed");
}
SharedPreferences prefs = this.getPreferences(0);
strUserName = prefs.getString("savename", null);
if (strUserName != null) {
    etUserName.setText(strUserName);
}
strPassword = prefs.getString("savepassword", null);
if (strPassword != null) {
    etPassword.setText(strPassword);
}
rememberMe = prefs.getBoolean("check", true);
if (rememberMe == true) {
    cbRememberMe.setChecked(true);

hope this fix your issue A RecyclerView creates only as many items as necessary. As soon as an item is no longer visible by scrolling, the content is modified via .onBindViewHolder() and appended below. The user doesn't notice this. However, you will probably need to make the following changes to your code:
code :
    @NonNull
    @Override
    public FavoriteViewHolder onCreateViewHolder(@NonNull ViewGroup parent, int viewType) {
        LayoutInflater inflater = LayoutInflater.from(mCtx);
        View view = inflater.inflate(R.layout.activity_main, null);
        return new FavoriteViewHolder(view);
    }

    @Override
    public void onBindViewHolder(final FavoriteViewHolder holder, final int position) {
        Final result = resultList.get(position);

        final String preferenceKey = "checkbox" + position;
        boolean isMyValueChecked= preferences.getBoolean(preferenceKey,false);
        holder.checkBox.setChecked(isMyValueChecked);

        holder.checkBox.setOnCheckedChangeListener(new CompoundButton.OnCheckedChangeListener() {
            @Override
            public void onCheckedChanged(CompoundButton compoundButton, boolean newState) {
                preferences.edit().putBoolean(preferenceKey, newState).apply();
            }
        });
    }

    @Override
    public int getItemCount() {
        return resultList.size();
    }

    class FavoriteViewHolder extends RecyclerView.ViewHolder {
        CheckBox checkBox;

        FavoriteViewHolder(View itemView) {
            super(itemView);
            checkBox=itemView.findViewById(R.id.checkBox);
        }
    }
}
