like below fixes the issue the simple answer is no. from the docs it is clearly stated that cron jobs use HTTP GET. the best thing is to change your method to GET and restrict direct access to the url in your app.yaml. like this:

I hope this helps . See my blog post on how to authenticate with an App Engine app using credentials stored in the phone.
It is possible to authenticate users programmatically. In the Python SDK, the appengine_rpc module performs this function. In a nutshell, the procedure is this:

it should still fix some issue From what I can tell if you want to send POST requests to GAE. Make sure you do it on https. If you make the request on a non-https attempt, it sends back a 302 redirect to the https version of the request. But if whatever you're using to send the request doesn't correctly handle 302's it might resend the request incorrectly.

I hope this helps you . A cron job servlet has 10 minute request timeout just like a taskqueue servlet, so you could easily run the code under the cron servlet. However, I would still go with the cron firing the task, as this gives you more flexibility going forward. For example, you could trigger the task servlet from anywhere in your app if you wanted to.

Any of those help Use the cron job to hit the specific url. From that GET to the url, run a script, and then send a POST out to a different url, via the taskqueue:
code :
try:
    taskqueue.Task(
       url="/some_url/",
       name=task_name,
       method="POST",
       params={
          "post_param_1": post_param_1,
          "post_param_2": post_param_2,
          "post_param_3": post_param_3,
          etc
       }
   ).add(queue_name="my-queue")
except:
    pass #throws TombstonedTaskError if tombstoned name used.
