it should still fix some issue In Java, longs are always 64-bit quantities. When arithmetic is performed with two quantities of differing widths, Java's specification says that the arithmetic is done with the larger datatype.
Thus, by casting pos to a long, all subsequent arithmetic is done using 64-bit longs. Since the last step is to mod against a 32-bit value, the result can fit within 32 bits for sure, so the final cast loses no precision.

it fixes the issue It is a difficult problem from an engineering perspective.
The Secure Coding site recommends:

it fixes the issue I've managed to find a CSS workaround to preventing bouncing of the viewport. The key was to wrap the content in 3 divs with -webkit-touch-overflow:scroll applied to them. The final div should have a min-height of 101%. In addition, you should explicitly set fixed widths/heights on the body tag representing the size of your device. I've added a red background on the body to demonstrate that it is the content that is now bouncing and not the mobile safari viewport.
Source code below and here is a plunker (this has been tested on iOS7 GM too). http://embed.plnkr.co/NCOFoY/preview
code :
<!doctype html>

    <meta name="viewport" content="initial-scale=0.5,maximum-scale=0.5,minimum-scale=0.5,user-scalable=no" />
        body { width: 640px; height: 920px; overflow: hidden; margin: 0; padding: 0; background: red; }
        .no-bounce { width: 100%; height: 100%; overflow-y: scroll; -webkit-overflow-scrolling: touch; }
        .no-bounce > div { width: 100%; height: 100%; overflow-y: scroll; -webkit-overflow-scrolling: touch; }
        .no-bounce > div > div { width: 100%; min-height: 101%; font-size: 30px; }
        p { display: block; height: 50px; }

    <div class="no-bounce">
                <h1>Some title</h1>
                <p>item 1</p>
                <p>item 2</p>
                <p>item 3</p>
                <p>item 4</p>
                <p>item 5</p>
                <p>item 6</p>
                <p>item 7</p>
                <p>item 8</p>
                <p>item 9</p>
                <p>item 10</p>
                <p>item 11</p>
                <p>item 12</p>
                <p>item 13</p>
                <p>item 14</p>
                <p>item 15</p>
                <p>item 16</p>
                <p>item 17</p>
                <p>item 18</p>
                <p>item 19</p>
                <p>item 20</p>

may help you . I think you should get rid of the hack for bad SVG display and fix the SVG instead. The solution to question Background image tiles have gap between them when using SVG image. How to solve in Chrome? should help you with that.
To summarize what it says: The problem is probably round-off error when computing dimensions of certain parts of the image. There is no white stripe, but it pops up when rendering to whole pixels. Round the coordinates inside to whole numbers and the white stripe should vanish.

wish help you to fix your issue Default mailboxes in Akka are not bounded, so will not prevent memory crash. You can however configure actors to use different mailboxes, among those there are both mailboxes that discard (pass to dead letters) messages when the max size is reached and those that block (I would not recommend to use those). You can find all mailbox implementations that comes with Akka in the docs here: https://doc.akka.io/docs/akka/current/typed/mailboxes.html#mailbox-implementations
